![]() New for the 2002 QX4 is a 3.5-liter 24-valve V6 creating 240 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. That results in quiet and strong power. The terrific handling is courtesy of an independent strut front and five-link coil beam rear axle suspension. Add engine speed-sensitive rack-and-pinion steering and deliciously comfortable seats and you get an SUV that is truely a delight to drive. ![]() Interior changes are minimal which makes sense given its established high quality. New optional toys include: a new naviagtion system with a birdseye view, an entertainment system, which includes a video player and jacks for gaming systems and a fold-down LCD screen, and Intelligent Cruise Control, a system using laser sensors along with throttle and brake acuators. Our test vehicle did not have this option but we'll update this report after we've experienced it. Regardless of how you gussy up this beast, we predict you'll be so impressed with its quiet, smooth ride and you'll start making up reasons to drive it. ![]() - Editor |
