Yes, the 2002 Saturn VUE does indeed have polymer bodyside panels which will bounce the basketball back without damage. Also, for a small price, four-cylinder automatic Vues can also be equipped with a CVT, or Continuously Variable Transmission. That may sound painful but basically you get the power to the front wheels until any slipping is detected, then CVT has the rear wheels help out as needed. They've also tweaked it to the point that it gets better gas mileage than the manual.

The Vue sports a fully independent suspension, thus a car-like feel. The interior is roomy, and its low step-in height makes getting in and out easy. Fold down the front seat for long loads, and fold down the reaer seats for 63.5 cubic feet of cargo space. As with all Saturns, safety is a priority: head curtain airbag systems are options. but driver and front passenger airbags are standard along with three-point seatbelts for all seating positions and LATCH child safety seat provisions. ABS brakes are available on all models. With all of Saturns strengths behind it, the Vue should have a solid first year.
