New Audi A4 V-6 has 30 Valves. 30, Count 'em
Like all Audis, the new A4 sedan is built like a tank, has impressive performance from its 190 hp V6 2.8 motor--which features five valves per cylinder. The base price of the semi-luxury sedan is $28,120; as tested with sunroof, quattro all-wheel drive system, sport wheels, trip computer, and an all weather package, it rolls over the curb at $33,150.
New for 1998 from Audi for the A4 are: optional five-speed trans with tiptronic; ABS 5.3 replaces 5.0; new 8 spoke alloy wheels and new 205/60 all-season tires; clutch interlock for manual transmissions; standard seat mounted front side airbags; red taillight lenses with amber shine through light bulbs, 4-position adjustable intermittent windshield wipers; active door reflectors in all four doors; optional remote locking controls incorporated into folding ignition key; revised instrument cluster with automatic illumination controls; new sport steering wheel; revised center arm rest; and ambient temperature gauge standard on A4 1.8
