AutoZone Senior Vice President - Stores Accepts Position With Office DepotMEMPHIS, Tenn., Jan. 31 AutoZone, Inc. , today announced that Gerald E. Colley, 48, senior vice president - stores, has resigned to accept a position as Office Depot's president of North American stores. "Jerry has built an extraordinary operating team, and the strength of the team he has assembled gives me great confidence in our future. We wish him the very best in his new endeavor," said Tim Vargo, AutoZone's president and COO. Separately, Stephen W. Valentine, 38, has given up his duties as senior vice president - business development in order to care for and spend more time with his ailing father. "While we always hate to bid farewell to good AutoZoners, we've spent a great deal of time developing a deep bench. The people we've been developing will now have the opportunity to take AutoZone to the next level," Vargo said. Vargo will assume responsibility for both Colley's and Valentine's duties until internal replacements are named.
