World Transport Signs LOI for Lebanon, Jordan, and Syria
EL CAJON, Calif.--Jan. 18, 2001--World Transport Authority Inc. (WTA) (OTCBB:WTAI)(Frankfurt:920943) today announced that it has signed a letter of intent with Magellan One, LLC, for a Master License for production of the WorldStar utility vehicle in a territory which includes the nations of Lebanon, Jordan, and Syria. These countries are located in the Middle East, and contain a population of approximately 25 million people.
The Letter of Intent provides 90 days for both parties to perform due diligence and construct a business plan for the exploitation of the Lebanese, Jordanian, and Syrian markets. The parties must come to an agreement on a Master License Agreement by April 21, 2001. The fee for the Master License will be approximately three million United States dollars (US$3,000,000), and is based on the population of the territory as well as the current number of vehicles being sold.
In the mid-1990s, WTA's founders identified the need for an inexpensive, rugged utility vehicle for developing nations around the world. WTA has designed a vehicle capable of the same favorable economic impact on developing nations as the Ford Model T had for the United States and the Volkswagen Beetle had for Europe.
WTA Investor Relations Manager Michael Keller urged investors to call World Transport Authority's office in El Cajon, Calif., for an update on the corporation and information on its business.
