Information Builders Announces Major Initiative in Automotive Industry
New Branch Office to Improve Service, Support and Underscore Growth in Market

NEW YORK, Jan. 18 Information Builders, the leader in Web
Business Intelligence, announced today the opening of its new Automotive
Operations branch, located in Troy, Michigan. As a 25-year technology company
with proven solutions that turn corporate data -- often locked in legacy
systems -- into usable intelligence, Information Builders has taken this
initiative to focus on the support of its customers in an increasingly global
automobile industry. The office will also develop and coordinate new business
opportunities.
"We are excited to expand our business into the automotive area and
further assist our customers and the industry," said Gerald D. Cohen, CEO of
Information Builders. "This new branch will allow us to concentrate our
resources so that our tailored technology solutions can be built for these
leading enterprises, which have shown impressive commitment to using the
Internet to streamline and optimize business processes."
Information Builders has strong relationships in the automotive industry,
and has built a history with such long-term customers as General Motors, Ford,
Toyota, ArvinMeritor and Volkswagen. For example, using the popular WebFOCUS
solution, Information Builders transformed Ford Motor Company's printed
reports into readable, graphically represented, Web-based documents. This
solution helps auto dealers and warranty specialists quickly identify and
resolve problems associated with warranty repair or claim trends.
The new Troy office will be headed by Ronald C. Pepper, who has been
appointed to Branch Manager. In his new role, he will be responsible for the
ongoing sales of Information Builders products and services to automotive
manufacturers and their tier-one suppliers. Pepper previously served
Information Builders as National Accounts Manager on the GM account, creating
various sales and marketing initiatives. He brings with him over 25 years of
experience in working with automotive customers.
The new office is located at Northfield Hills Corporate Center, 5750 New
King Street, Suite 350, Troy, MI 48098. Its telephone number is 248-641-8820.
