INTERMET Expects to Webcast Fourth-Quarter and Year-End 2000 Earnings Briefing

    TROY, Mich., Jan. 17 INTERMET Corporation
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer John Doddridge and Vice President of
Finance E. R. (Skip) Autry Jr. will host a briefing to discuss fourth-quarter
and year-end 2000 financial results at 2:30 p.m. EST on Thursday, February 1,
2001.
    INTERMET expects to provide a live audio webcast scheduled to begin in
conjunction with the briefing at 2:30 p.m.  The webcast can be accessed
through the Financial/Investor Information page on the company's web site at
http://www.intermet.com .  A replay of the webcast briefing also is expected
to be available on the web site through March 2, 2001.
    INTERMET plans to announce fourth-quarter and year-end 2000 results in a
press release issued on Thursday, February 1, prior to the briefing.  The
