Visteon Partners With PhatNoise(TM) to Deliver the MACH(R) MP3 Jukebox
DEARBORN, Mich., Jan. 16 Visteon Corporation
has signed an agreement with PhatNoise(TM), Inc., a leading-edge technology
company that has developed award-winning multimedia platforms for the
automotive environment, to introduce a revolutionary vehicle audio system: the
MACH(R) MP3 Jukebox powered by PhatNoise(TM). This unique system, designed
specifically for the automotive environment, will play up to 4,000 high-
quality digital audio tracks, enabling consumers to bring an entire music
collection into the vehicle quickly and easily.

"We are excited to be working with PhatNoise(TM), a leading developer of
digital music solutions, to take digital audio from the computer to the car,
without the hassle of having to replace the current car stereo system," said
Jim Wynalek, Vice President and General Manager of Visteon's
Telematics/Multimedia business system. "The MACH(R) MP3 Jukebox, powered by
PhatNoise(TM), provides consumers with convenient access to their entire
digital music collection while on the road -- up to 4,000 tracks at their
fingertips."
Here's how the system works: the MACH(R) MP3 Music Manager powered by
PhatNoise(TM) software organizes and uploads music files from the computer and
into the palm-sized, removable, storage cartridge. A docking station allows
the cartridge to interface with the computer. The cartridge contains a hard
disk drive that is capable of holding hundreds of hours of music in a device
small enough to fit into the palm of your hand.
Simply by inserting the portable cartridge into the in-vehicle audio
player, users gain access to the extensive selection of stored music files.
The player then connects to the existing vehicle stereo, which can be
conveniently installed in the trunk, glove box or under a seat and uses the
same cable connections as a CD changer.
The Visteon MACH(R) MP3 Jukebox powered by PhatNoise(TM) will be available
through the aftermarket in the third quarter of 2001. For more information,
