    HOUSTON, Jan. 16 Cooper Industries, Inc. today
announced it expects to report its fourth-quarter and full-year 2000 earnings
on Tuesday, January 23, at 9:00 a.m. (Eastern).  A news release and supporting
financial data will be distributed to the news wire services and the New York
Stock Exchange at that time, and a conference call will be held at 12:00 noon
(Eastern).
    The conference call will provide an overview of the fourth-quarter
financial performance, business highlights of 2000, and an outlook for 2001.
