Driveitaway.com Links with AutoCheck to Provide Car Shoppers Vehicle Histories
Consumers Bidding on Driveitaway.com's Used Auto Auctions Can Now Go Online
To Research a Specific Vehicle's History

PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 15 A strategic alliance between
Driveitaway.com ( http://www.driveitaway.com ), the first Web site to focus on
dealer-to-consumer used car auctions, and AutoCheck allows consumers to
investigate an auto's history before they bid on it. AutoCheck
( http://www.autocheck.com ), based in Birmingham, AL, provides vehicle history
reports to consumers, dealers, and industry auctions.
Using the AutoCheck Vehicle History Reports link on the Driveitaway.com
site, bidders can research the vehicle that interests them by submitting its
VIN (vehicle identification number) to AutoCheck for a search of the company's
extensive database which includes exclusive Major Damage History information
and more than one billion records from state motor vehicle departments.
At Driveitaway.com, consumers can bid online at prices they set and gain
the peace of mind that comes with buying the vehicle from a local, respected
dealership. The company recently entered into a relationship with Ford that
greatly expands its dealer network to include 28 dealerships operated by the
Ford Dealer Development group from Maine to North Carolina.
"Choosing a car to buy is often a nerve-wracking experience, so AutoCheck
alleviates some of that stress by doing the homework for the consumer," says
Driveitaway.com President Stacy Ratner. "This deal helps put all the pieces
together for consumers: they now have the convenience of looking up a car's
history online, the security of seeing its condition on a dealer's lot, and
the control of bidding on it via the Web."
Users with VINs can check for free to see whether the auto they are
investigating was ever certified as a dealer buyback, or a lemon. For a fee
of $19.95, users receive 10 complete vehicle history reports over 60 days that
include where the car was owned, odometer readings, flood titles, salvage and
major damage history -- meaning the car was damaged to at least 50 percent of
its value at some point.
Previously, AutoCheck's primary customer base was large auction houses.
"This is a great match, because it affords us the opportunity, via
Driveitaway.com, to directly reach consumers," says Charles Redden, AutoCheck
director of business development. "The beauty of Driveitaway.com is the
consumer's ability to see the car on the dealer's lot before they buy," he
says. "That, coupled with the information we can provide, will be a true
confidence builder for any auto buyer."
