Visteon and Philips Semiconductors Announce Licensing Agreement    
    DEARBORN, Mich., Jan. 12 Visteon Corporation
and Philips Semiconductors today announced that they have a licensing
agreement that will enable Philips to license Visteon's MACH(R) DSP (Digital
Signal Processing) technology for use in its DSP radio integrated-circuits
(IC).
    Visteon's MACH(R) DSP technology can provide significant improvements in
AM/FM radio reception by automatically adapting key radio characteristics and
channel bandwidth to specific reception conditions.  The result is reduced
interference and higher fidelity.
    "Visteon is very pleased to be able to work with Philips Semiconductors to
provide this advanced, innovative technology," said Jim Wynalek, Vice
President and General Manager, Telematics/Multimedia business system.  "This
agreement paves the way for receiver manufacturers throughout the industry to
make use of our highly efficient, breakthrough technology."
