Polk Auto Trend Center Report: Automotive Press Rank BMW Highest in Four Vehicle SegmentsDETROIT, Jan. 10 Today the Polk Company released the first in a series of trend reports direct from the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). This first data report provides a Top 5 listing of "favorites" captured by the Polk Auto Trend Centers during the first three press review days of NAIAS 2001 (January 8-10). In 4 of the 7 segments that provided a sufficient sample size (sports car, prestige luxury car, luxury car and sport utility vehicle), the media ranked BMW the most favorable automobile. For the second year in a row, the Polk Auto Trend Centers will be used to collect NAIAS attendee opinions throughout the 2001 show and reports will be issued on a regular basis, providing more in-depth analysis as the show progresses. By measuring these reactions, Polk will be able to determine both public and media sentiments regarding the auto makers, their products and the show in general.
