Briggs & Stratton Announces Conference Call

    MILWAUKEE, Jan. 10 Briggs & Stratton Corporation :
    Briggs & Stratton Corporation announced today that it will hold an
investor conference call at 10:00 AM EST on Thursday, January 18.  This call
will follow the Corporation's release of Second Quarter Earnings, which is
expected to occur prior to the opening of trading on the New York Stock
