    The following information is intended to correct erroneous information
                   contained in news reporting originating
               from media outlets in Mexico on January 8, 2001

    TROY, Mich., Jan. 9 Delphi Automotive Systems
officials today stated that January 8, 2001 news reports originating in Mexico
concerning a decline in sales to General Motors as well as fifty percent
production cuts in Mexico over two years are erroneous.

    The company does not foresee any significant change in production volumes
or employment beyond the impact of normal economic cycles and planned
productivity improvements.  The company expects sales revenue per General
Motors vehicle to remain comparable to previous levels and in line with
previous guidance.
