PeopleFirst.com Appoints Chief Privacy Officer
    SAN DIEGO, Jan. 9 Internet privacy is becoming
increasingly more important to consumers these days, and government regulation
has become a necessity for security in 2001.  PeopleFirst.com has responded by
appointing Alan Amico to the post of chief privacy officer (CPO).  Reaffirming
the leading online vehicle lender's continuing commitment to online privacy,
Amico will be responsible for the company's privacy policy and practices
including making sure PeopleFirst.com maintains a secure environment to
attract and retain customers.  Amico will also work to increase public
awareness regarding the company's efforts in those areas.

    Amico brought more than 15 years of experience to PeopleFirst.com when he
joined the company in February of 2000.  Along with his new role as CPO, Amico

Prior to joining PeopleFirst.com, Amico served as vice president and general
counsel of Solid State Stamping, Inc. as well as vice president and general
counsel of Renaissance Pharmaceutical, Inc.  He began his career with Ernst &
Whinney in Los Angeles, before joining the San Diego-based law firm of Saxon,
Brewer, Solomon & Kincannon, where he represented numerous lenders, financial
institutions and high technology companies.  Amico holds a law degree from
Loyola Law School of Los Angeles and a B.S. in accounting from Loyola
Marymount University.
