North American Rolls-Royce Sales RiseDETROIT, Jan. 9 Sales of Rolls-Royce motor cars in North America in 2000 rose by more than four percent. The introduction of the Corniche convertible, and the enhancements to the Silver Seraph, plus the launch of the Park Ward saloon combined to deliver sales of 248 cars, an increase of 4.6 percent over the 1999 total of 237 cars. The President of Rolls-Royce & Bentley Motor Cars, Inc., Alasdair Stewart said: "Rolls-Royce enthusiasts responded very well to the new Corniche convertible, and the higher specification of the Silver Seraph saloon enhanced its appeal considerably. The Park Ward, which was first shown at the Geneva Auto Salon in March 2000 is built to specific order and is sold to a very select group of Rolls-Royce buyers." Corniche deliveries began well into the second quarter and 88 cars were sold in 2000. Silver Seraph sales totaled 147 cars and the new Park Ward, with its extended wheelbase, is just beginning deliveries with five cars delivered to North American customers. Stewart added: "North American Rolls-Royce buyers continue to be very positive about the marque, and the Corniche helped to strengthen confidence in the Crewe-built range of Rolls-Royce motor cars." The Company is confident that interest in the Crewe-built Rolls-Royce models will be sustained and looks forward to increased sales in 2001.
