Lear Corporation Earns Fiat Qualitas Award
SULZBACH, Germany, Jan. 9 Lear Corporation has
been honored with Fiat Auto SpA's Qualitas Award for its proactive customer
response approach. The award recognizes Lear's customer focus and teamwork
with Fiat, including the excellent communications effort between the two
companies that led to new and creative customer cost-savings proposals.
Fiat's coveted Qualitas Award is given to select suppliers once a year.
Lear's award was presented by Roberto Testore, Chief Executive Officer of Fiat
Auto, at a recent ceremony hosted by Fiat in Turin, Italy. Lear has been a
significant supplier of interior systems for all Fiat, Alfa Romeo and Lancia
models since 1995.
"We are honored to receive this award from Fiat, especially since it is a
reflection of Lear's continuous effort to make customer satisfaction our top
priority," said Bob Rossiter, President and Chief Executive Officer of Lear
Corporation.
Earlier this year, Lear's GM/Fiat Division introduced a new method of
communicating with customers that incorporates cross-functional input into all
inquiries. The new approach encourages innovative and best-practice proposals
that will result in greater customer satisfaction. Both Lear and Fiat have
achieved notable cost savings, and proposals promising several million dollars
worth of savings are being forecasted.
"We are very proud of this achievement," said Frank Orsini, President of
Lear's Fiat Division, upon accepting the award. "This prestigious supplier
award represents a significant milestone in our relationship with Fiat Auto."
