Comworxx and i3 Mobile Partner to Deliver In-Vehicle Wireless Internet and PIM Services

SARASOTA, Fla. and STAMFORD, Conn.--Jan. 8, 2001--Comworxx (OTCBB:IWXX), a leader in the development and commercialization of telematics systems in North and South America, and i3 Mobile, Inc. , a leader in innovative wireless media solutions, today announced a partnership that will give Comworxx customers seamless access to a feature-rich set of content and services in their vehicles and on the Web.
The customizable services, which are scheduled to be available the second quarter of 2001, will be offered through Comworxx's Global Transport Telematic System (GTTS) to their in-vehicle computer system which currently provides car and truck owners with emergency roadside assistance, point-to-point navigation, and other location-based services. Planned offerings include traffic alerts, news headlines, sports scores, ski area condition reports, severe weather alerts, and stock quotes. Personal Information Management (PIM) services such as e-mail and calendaring services are also planned. All services will use Comworxx' text to speech technology to `read' information to users while in their vehicles.
Each customer will have a personal profile that will allow them to receive and manage their services from their vehicles or from the Web using i3 Mobile's i3 (m)Power Portal(TM) technology. The i3 (m)Power Portal is a highly customizable, integrated wireless and wired platform architecture that offers seamless access to content and services. From a personalized home page, customers will be able to choose the specific content that they want to receive on the Web or while in their vehicle.
In addition, customers will be able to request information on-demand from their vehicles. Many of these two-way services, such as traffic and weather, are location-based, and use Comworxx GPS technology to determine users' exact geographic position and deliver information tailored to the user's current position. Other two-way services include flight information, real-time stock quotes, sports scores, local news, and directory services that allow users to find their nearest ATM or gas station and receive directions on how to get there.
The market for telematics technology is on the rise. The Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America) expects that by 2010, $400 billion will be spent on telematics applications worldwide.
"Today's population is increasingly mobile, with many of us spending significant portions of the day in our cars. At i3 Mobile, we're creating products that address the needs of our users, and therefore have created an application that allows people to turn what is generally considered wasted time into productive time," said John A. Lack, president and CEO of i3 Mobile. "Working with Comworxx presents us with the opportunity to extend our reach in providing personalized services to users in their vehicles."
"i3 Mobile's wireless content and applications are a valuable addition to our existing suite of telematic services," said Mike Jonas, CEO of Comworxx. "i3 Mobile's leadership and experience in developing sophisticated personalized wireless information solutions allows us to create a world class portal solution for our customers. Together, we plan to create new and exciting technologies for the emerging telematics marketplace."
