Pennzoil-Quaker State Company Names Anne E. Tawney Senior Vice President Of Marketing for Jiffy Lube International

    HOUSTON, Jan. 8 Pennzoil-Quaker State Company
announced today that Anne E. Tawney has been named senior vice president of
marketing for Jiffy Lube International.  Tawney will be responsible for
driving the development of an aggressive marketing plan to support the
company's overall growth strategy.  In this role, she will provide leadership
over the company's advertising, promotions, market research, public relations,
brand, product and cause marketing efforts.
    "Throughout her career, Anne has demonstrated proven ability in strategic
planning and tactical application to drive volume, market share and
profitability," said Marc Graham, president of Jiffy Lube International.  "Her
perceptive consumer insight and strong leadership skills will help Jiffy Lube
International strengthen and grow our quality reputation."
    Tawney has 17 years of marketing, promotion and advertising experience,
most recently as vice president of strategic marketing for Newpower, a
subsidiary of Enron Corporation.  She served as vice president of marketing
for Expert Software from 1997 to 1999.  From 1995 to 1997, she provided
marketing, promotion and advertising leadership for Blockbuster Corporation.
Early in her career, Tawney held marketing and advertising management
positions with Burger King Corporation, Coca Cola USA and J. Walter Thompson.
    Tawney is a graduate of Cedarville University where she received a BA in
Communication Arts.
