Featherlite Unveils New State-of-the-Art Luxury CoachNew Vogue 6000LX Drives Into the Future; Tech Driven-Features and Option For Four Slide Outs Highlight New Coach Series CRESCO, Iowa, Jan. 8 Culminating two years in development, a new, state-of-the-art luxury motorcoach has been launched by Featherlite Luxury Coaches of Sanford, Fla. Featherlite Luxury Coaches is a division of Featherlite, Inc. of Cresco, Iowa, the largest bus conversion and luxury coach manufacturer in the world. The "Featherlite Vogue 6000LX" made its debut at Atlanta Motor Speedway during the NAPA 500 recently, where it created a stir among coach-savvy NASCAR Winston Cup team owners and drivers, many of whom rely on coaches for their living quarters while at the track. A Featherlite spokesman said the 6000LX's new composite construction, aerodynamic design and technology-driven features were the center of attention. It will also be on display at the Featherlite Luxury Coaches Annual Open House, 4441 Orange Blvd., Sanford, Fla. from Jan. 11-16 and at the Florida RV Super Show, Florida State Fairgrounds, Tampa, from January 16-21, 2001. The new 6000LX will be available with an unprecedented four slide outs that create a dramatically large living area. Two come standard with the third and fourth being optional. "The 6000LX is the industry's first composite luxury motor coach," said Featherlite President and CEO Conrad Clement. "The exterior is aerodynamically designed and is constructed of composite panels similar to those used in manufacturing some of the finest yachts in the world." The composite fiberglass, balsa and NitaCore panels provide strength and reduce weight. "The lamination schedule for the entire side wall section, including the side post structure, is produced using molds," Clement said. "As a result, the panels are both lighter and stronger." Clement said the results were dramatic. "During development, our test drivers commented that the 6000LX's composite construction and new patent-pending sway bar system provided a lower center of gravity which resulted in exceptional handling, even in strong cross winds," he said. "Several customers who have tried the 6000LX report that it drives better than any coach or bus they have ever driven." The interior can accommodate many features found on Featherlite Vantare luxury coaches, the flagship of the Featherlite Luxury Coach division. "The interior can be custom designed with marble or granite flooring, leather furnishings, etched glass, exquisite fabrics and just about anything the customer wants," said Clement. "The 6000LX is equipped with an in-motion satellite system, a 42" plasma TV, base surround sound and DVD as standard equipment. With these features and two slide outs standard, the 6000LX provides breathtaking possibilities for designing the customer's interior." The 6000LX is also equipped with the same marine-grade quality systems found on Featherlite Vantare coaches, including an Aqua Hot heating system, a Head Hunter pump and water system, and 12-volt or 24-volt electrical system. All the new features notwithstanding, Clement said the defining characteristic of 6000LX may be the way in which Featherlite approached the project when it was started over two years ago. "The driving force behind the 6000LX is unique to anything we have done before," he said. "We wanted the best, so we designed and built this coach from the ground up. We're confident that anyone who drives the 6000LX will find it an incredible experience. The 6000LX incorporates the finest aspects of European styling and many of its amenities are found only in world's finest luxury hotel suites."
