Delphi's MPCpro model was cited for outstanding innovation in the mobile office category by a prominent group of journalists, designers and engineers. "We are pleased to earn this recognition as having one of the most innovative products at the show," said Dave Wohleen, president of Delphi's Electronics & Mobile Communication sector. "We believe we have a breakthrough product with the MPCpro and we believe it's going to be very popular with tech-savvy consumers who want more productivity in their vehicles." Delphi publicly launched its Communiport(R) Mobile Productivity Center (MPC) today, making the technology available for consumers to order on the company's Internet site (http://www.delphiauto.com/communiport) for a retail price of $499. The MPC is a new electronic device designed to help busy consumers stay organized and connected to their vehicles cellphone and Palm password personal computer available separately. The first model of the MPC lineup, called Communiport MPCpro synchronizes several Ericsson cellular telephone modules and a Palm V or Vx handheld computer and then allows drivers to access the data and make hands-free phone calls through voice commands and text-to-speech software. The MPC will initially be available for purchase on the Internet.
