Polaris Diversifies Product Line With New Landscape Machine; All Surface Loader Expands Utility Segment for Polaris

MINNEAPOLIS--Jan. 4, 2001--Polaris Industries is growing its existing line of utility vehicles with the launch of a new landscaping product, the All Surface Loader.
"The All Surface Loader will help Polaris continue to expand our product line by reaching the growing business segment of landscapers and estate homeowners," said Tom Tiller, President and CEO, Polaris Industries Inc. "Polaris has a strong dealer network in place to sell the All Surface Loader, a product that performs multiple landscaping functions and eliminates the need for an extensive work crew. Today, more than 60 percent of Polaris' sales are made up of machines that work hard, including ATVs and RANGER utility vehicles."
The All Surface Loader is a unique, hard-working machine with quick-attach work tools that give the power and versatility of an entire crew. With its compact size and rubber-track, the All Surface Loader can go to work in places where other machines only cause damage.
The undercarriage puts just 2.5 pounds of ground pressure under the rubber tracks, spreading the weight of the machine over a large surface area. The result is minimal surface damage and solid traction. This is particularly important in landscaping or remodeling projects of existing properties.
The All Surface Loader comes with a full line of work tools, each built for specific jobs, such as building retaining walls or designing flower beds.
The All Surface Loader will be manufactured by ASV , an independent contractor for Polaris. The product will be sold under the Polaris brand name.
"Partnering with an innovative company like ASV is the logical next step in growing our utility segment," said Tiller. "We are excited to announce this important partnership."
ASV was co-founded in 1983 by Edgar Hetteen, who also founded Polaris in 1954, and Gary Lemke. The All Surface Loader will be available to consumers by the end of 1Q 2001.
