Code-Alarm Introduces Custom, Web-Based Installation Product
CodeWare(TM) Demonstrated During CES; Company Offers Free 15-Day Trial

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 4 Code-Alarm, Inc. just made installing
vehicle security, convenience and audio products a little easier for 12-volt
retailers with its introduction of CodeWare(TM) powered by Wire Magic(TM).
The Madison Heights, Mich.-based manufacturer of remote vehicle control
systems will introduce the new Web-based installation product, which offers
wiring diagrams to more than 2,400 vehicles, during the Consumer Electronics
Show Jan. 6-9 in Las Vegas. Dealers and installers will be able to test
CodeWare at Booth 21143 Gold Lot during the four-day trade show.
CodeWare, which was developed with the assistance of Ontario-based Wire
Magic, Inc., allows the 12-volt retailer to access wiring diagrams for
thousands of domestic and foreign vehicles, including car audio, cruise
control and global positioning systems (GPS). CodeWare also includes
schematics for wiring, instructions and tips for installing Code-Alarm's
complete product line. Code-Alarm engineers, who work regularly with
engineers at the Big 3 and other automakers, will provide continual updates
via the Web to ensure that CodeWare is always up-to-date.
"We thought it was natural to offer our customers a Web-based opportunity
to quickly and conveniently access the schematics they use on a daily basis,"
said Michael Schroeder, vice president of marketing and new business
development for Code-Alarm. "CodeWare will make it a snap to install any
aftermarket electronic component for the vehicles, from Code-Alarm's new and
revolutionary PowerElite(TM) products to new stereo systems to GPS.
"Installation help is never more than a click away with CodeWare, which is
backed by our 24-hour help line and our tech support staff. Continual updates
ensure that our customers always have access to the newest data."
During CES, Code-Alarm will offer a demonstration CD-ROM that allows users
a free 15-day trial. At the end of the trial period, customers can purchase
one of two versions of CodeWare:

    * Standard, which offers wiring diagrams on remote start and security for
more than 2,400 vehicles built around the world since 1990, wiring diagrams
for all Code-Alarm products, and installation tips. The Standard version,
which is updated continually through the Internet, is available for a yearly
subscription fee.
    * Professional, which offers all the options available on the Standard
package as well as wiring diagrams on car audio, cruise control and global
positioning systems (GPS). The Professional version, which is also updated
continually through the Internet, is available for a yearly subscription fee.

Code-Alarm will take orders for CodeWare during CES, with plans to begin
shipping the CD-ROM that allows Internet access to CodeWare in January 2001.
System requirements include a Pentium 233 (or higher) processor, 32 megs of
RAM, a CD-ROM, V6a monitor, and Windows 95/98 NT 4.0/2000 or Windows ME.
