(PRNewsFoto)[AG] TROY, MI USA 10/19/2000TROY, Mich., Jan. 4 Delphi Automotive Systems has named John Jaffurs executive director of Delphi's Facilities Services Group (FSG), effective immediately. In his new position, Jaffurs, 51, will assume responsibility for Delphi's worldwide facilities management and related activities. (Photo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20001019/DELPHIAS ) Reporting to Karen Healy, Delphi's vice president of corporate affairs and facilities, he will guide the ongoing development of Delphi's FSG as a center of expertise. This will include real estate acquisition and disposition, environmental activities, including stationary emissions, hazardous materials, waste treatment and disposal, and facilities management, including construction projects, repair, remediation and disposal. Jaffurs was most recently director of environmental services for Delphi, overseeing the development of Delphi's environmental activity since the company's separation from General Motors in 1999. He began his career with GM in 1968, where he held a variety of assignments in manufacturing, quality, labor relations, chemical metallurgical processing and divisional environmental activities. "John's strong leadership will help Delphi provide the most timely and cost effective facilities, environmental, and real estate support services," said Healy. "He will be a champion of Delphi's commitment to superior financial and responsive performance." Jaffurs holds a bachelor's degree from Purdue University and a master's degree from General Motors Institute (GMI), which is now Kettering University. He currently resides in West Bloomfield, Mich.
