Edelbrock Completes Acquisition of Russell Performance Products

TORRANCE, Calif.--Jan. 4, 2001--Edelbrock Corporation today announced that it has completed the acquisition of certain assets of Russell Industries, DBA Russell Performance Products Inc.
Russell, based in Daytona Beach, Fla., was started in 1973 and is known as a leading manufacturer of performance plumbing and brake lines, whose products include street legal brake lines, oil lines, brake rotors, fuel lines and filters. Russell distributes to the automotive and motorcycle aftermarkets and also supplies select component parts to Harley-Davidson. The deal closed in late December 2000 and was valued at $3.2 million and included the assumption of certain leases.
Russell's quality parts and accessories will complement Edelbrock's broad line of aftermarket parts to create one of the industry's most comprehensive portfolio of products for the automotive and motorcycle markets.
"With the addition of the Russell assets, we will be armed with a well respected name in both the automotive and motorcycle aftermarkets," said Vic Edelbrock, President and CEO of Edelbrock. "It not only complements our existing lines of parts, but will expand Edelbrock's product offering. The acquisition will provide our customers with an expansive breadth of products."
