Rockford Corporation to Debut New Product Lines for 2001
    TEMPE, Ariz., Jan. 3 Rockford Corporation ,
a leading manufacturer of high-performance car audio systems, today announced
the redesign and launch of nearly 80% of its brand product lines for 2001.
This follows the 1999 introduction of six digital technology products.  The
company's core Rockford Fosgate line of amplifiers and sub-woofers, the
Lightning Audio line of entry-level performance systems, and the recently
acquired Fosgate Audionics line of home theater products all feature new
technologies and products which will be introduced at the Consumer Electronics
Show in Las Vegas beginning this week.
    Gary Suttle, President and Chief Executive Officer said, "We are clearly
demonstrating through these new products, in an industry driven by innovation
and new technology, that we are the leader in high-performance mobile audio
products.  We're proud of the new technologies we are bringing to market and
are looking forward to an exciting show this week."

    Highlights of the new products and technology include:

    For Rockford Fosgate:
    --  Five new source units added to the company's award winning line
    --  New technology or cosmetic upgrade for all amplifiers
    --  New Class bd amplifiers from 500 to 1500 watts
    --  A redesign of key subwoofer products from the Punch line
    --  The new Power HX2, the highest performance woofer Rockford has ever
        made
    --  A re-launch of the Punch full-range coaxial speakers
    --  A re-design of f'nX component speaker systems

    For Lightning:
    --  Two new lines of Strike speakers
    --  Two new high power amplifiers for the Storm line
    --  A new entry-level line of amplifiers and woofers, the Bolt Series
    --  New accessory lines for the Bolt and Strike lines
    --  Storm accessories, the company's "flagship" line of power distribution
        accessories.

    Additionally, Rockford Corporation today announced the introduction of the
Fosgate Audionics brand.  During the WCES 2001 show, Fosgate Audionics will
debut a full line of home theater audio products.  Included in the line will
be two processor components, four passive speakers, three powered subwoofers
and two amplifiers.
    Mr. Suttle continued, "It is a pleasure to be working with Jim Fosgate
again.  He is truly a giant in the audio electronics industry.  Last year, we
introduced a car surround sound processor designed by Jim.  As we look to
evolve our business into the home theatre market and develop new technologies,
we know his contribution will prove to be invaluable."
    Jim Fosgate founded Fosgate Electronics in 1973 and sold the company to
Rockford Corporation in 1980 to concentrate his efforts on the coming
avalanche of surround sound.  Mr. Fosgate returns to Rockford in an
engineering consultant's role for Fosgate Audionics.
    Rockford will be hosting an Analyst/Investor Breakfast at the Stardust
Hotel on Monday, January 8, 2001 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. to discuss the
new products presented.
