Mazda December Sales Jump 15.9%
- Tribute Sales Lead the Way With 21,000 Sold in 3 Months -
IRVINE, Calif., Jan. 3 Mazda North American Operations
today announced its sales for 2000 increased 4.8 percent over the previous
year. This is Mazda's third consecutive year-over-year sales increase. Sales
for the month of December jumped 15.9 percent over the same month in 1999.
Mazda's recently introduced Tribute sport utility vehicle and the MPV
minivan led the company's sales increase. Over 21,000 Tributes were sold in
just three months and demand for the new sporty SUV continues to outpace
supply. MPV sales posted a 121 percent improvement over the previous year.
Overall, Mazda's month-to-date sales for December are 19,933, and the
year-to-date sales total is 255,526 units.
