Dana Corporation Sealing Products Unit Earns European Quality Award
ZARAGOZA, Spain, Jan. 3 Industria Serva, a wholly owned
sealing products subsidiary of Dana Corporation , has been
recognized with the Aragonese Excellence Award. The award, based on the
European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) standards, recognizes
industrial companies in the Aragon region of Spain that have achieved
excellent quality management.
"This award benchmarks the commitment Industria Serva has made to quality
and serves as an example for all of Dana's European divisions to follow," said
Heinz Eilks, Dana's vice president of sealing products.
Eilks credited Dana's internal quality management program, the Dana
Quality Leadership Process, for preparing Industria Serva to qualify for the
Aragonese Excellence Award. All Industria Serva employees were trained on
EFQM standards to qualify for the award.
Along with this international recognition, Dana operations have received
quality recognition in the United States, as well. Eleven Dana units received
U.S. state quality awards in the last year, and the company's Spicer
Driveshaft Division was a 2000 recipient of the Malcolm Baldrige National
Quality Award.
Industria Serva manufactures and distributes engine sealing products for
the automotive market and aftermarket. Over the past five years, Industria
Serva has doubled the number of its employees and has multiplied its sales
five times, making it one of the world's leading sealing system providers.
