MBUSA Official Automotive Sponsor of CES
Mercedes-Benz Assumes Role as Technology Leader at Technology-Based Tradeshows

MONTVALE, N.J., Jan. 3 Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) today
announced that it will be the official automotive sponsor of 2001
International CES, the world's largest annual tradeshow for consumer
technology, which takes place January 6-9, 2001 in Las Vegas. In November,
MBUSA was the sole automotive sponsor of COMDEX, the business-to-business
information technology tradeshow, which also took place in Las Vegas. As the
leader in automotive technology, Mercedes-Benz is now the sole automotive
sponsor of all major technology-based tradeshows.
MBUSA's participation is part of a three-year agreement with the Consumer
Electronics Association (CES), the show sponsor, producer and manager.
MBUSA's 1,600 square-foot display will feature MBUSA's new flagship model, the
V12-powered CL600, the all-new C320 and the high-powered CLK55 AMG. The
display will highlight and explain the latest in Mercedes-Benz technology
including active body control, distance monitoring systems, active cylinder
control, telematics, web-based services and more. Two video screens will air
the 2001 current Mercedes-Benz model line-up, as well as television ads of our
national advertising campaign.
According to Ken Enders, vice president of marketing for MBUSA, "This is
an excellent opportunity for us. We're always looking at ways to raise the
bar for how we deliver exceptional services to our customers. With so many
exhibitors showcasing their latest consumer technology advances, CES allows us
to share ideas to compete in the next wave of the automobile's future."
Enders added, "As the leader in automotive technology, our presence at CES is
to showcase our products to consumers who are technically savvy. We were very
successful doing that at COMDEX, where we had some 15,000 people stop into our
booth there and about five thousand participants taking a test drive."
