CCN Continues to Expand National Auto Network; Auto Managed Care Program More Than Doubles in Size to 40 States
SAN DIEGO, Jan. 2 National managed care leader CCN, the
nation's largest PPO, has extended its auto managed care program to 40 states,
effectively doubling its capability to offer a full-service auto injury
management program to national insurance carriers, bill review companies and
other automobile claims management clients.
CCN continues to be the largest directly contracted auto managed care
network in the nation with more than 224,000 provider locations. Providers in
CCN's auto network have specifically agreed to provide care for individuals
injured in auto accidents at their CCN contractual rates. States added to
CCN's auto network in recent months include Massachusetts, New Hampshire,
New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Utah.
In addition to its broad-based network coverage, CCN offers the advantage
of almost two decades of experience in managing the care of work-place
injuries, which are similar to the trauma and soft-tissue injuries most
commonly sustained in automobile accidents. CCN's auto-specific network
includes trauma specialists, primary care physicians, chiropractors, physical
therapists and other providers most sought by auto injury victims.
Mark Heinemeyer, CCN senior vice president and chief marketing and sales
officer, explained that auto injury management continues to be a CCN priority
for 2001.
"We will continue to build on the successes of our auto injury management
program -- a continually growing provider network, national average savings of
more than 25 percent and strong relationships with the nation's top auto
insurance carriers and auto bill review/managed care companies," Heinemeyer
stated. "The more CCN helps reduce costs for auto medical claims, the greater
the savings that can be passed on to the consumer in the form of lower out of
pocket expenses and/or lower premiums."
"CCN's expanding auto program reflects a strong commitment from current
auto clients and projected customer growth," said Bill Baker, CCN's vice
president of auto managed care. "In 1998, we started with fewer than
100,000 providers in 16 states. Today, we have auto networks in 24 additional
states plus D.C. This capability allows us to meet the current needs of our
national clients plus positions us for continued growth in 2001 and beyond."
In addition to its auto-specific provider network, CCN combines all the
proven managed care techniques -- early intervention through 800 reporting,
provider referral tools to maximize use of network providers, utilization
management, case management, physician advisor/peer review and bill review
services -- in a single full-service auto product.
CCN also features a physical medicine review component, which ensures that
physical therapy and chiropractic treatment is medically necessary and
appropriate.
CCN's auto injury management program is currently available in the
District of Columbia and the following states: Alabama, Arizona, California,
Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana,
Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan,
Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North
Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South
Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin
and Wyoming.
