ADVISORY/PPG To Present CCS Students With Awards for Innovative Futuristic Auto Glass Designs
PITTSBURGH--Jan. 2, 2001--PPG Industries will present the first PPG Design Challenge Awards to students of the Center for Creative Studies (CCS) on Thursday, Jan. 11, at 9:30 a.m. at Cobo Center, Detroit, in Suite O2-33.The awards recognize students' winning entries in a competition to design premium crossover vehicles for 2008 with differentiating window systems that provide added utility.
Ernest Hahn, PPG vice president, automotive glass, will present the awards. Also attending will be the three judges for the competition, and CCS alumni: Mark Allen, senior designer, DaimlerChrysler; John Mack, chief designer, General Motors, and Doug Gaffka, chief designer, Ford.
CCS students based their designs on a perspective of future trends by J.D. Power and Associates, whose representatives also will be on hand.
Members of the media are invited to cover the awards presentation and examine new PPG automotive glass and coatings technologies displayed for Supplier Preview Days Jan. 11-12 at the North American International Auto Show.
