ZAP Jump-Starts Offshore Manufacturing

SEBASTOPOL, Calif.--Jan. 2, 2001--Electric vehicle manufacturer ZAPWORLD.COM announced today that factories in both Mainland China and Taiwan are now in production on the ZAPPY JR. and are preparing to manufacture some of the Company's other electric vehicles.
"We believe we now have the right partners in place to ensure high-quality, lower cost products to meet the expected demand in 2001," said ZAPWORLD.COM CEO Gary Starr.
ZAPWORLD.COM (ZAP) has opened a satellite office in Taiwan to facilitate and manage the Company's business activities in Asia. ZAP engineer Rick Rocklewitz has taken up full-time residency in Taiwan to oversee quality control and continue to source new components.
"We are already seeing the fruits of our hard work," said Rocklewitz. "Our first electric vehicle under $400 is now available for immediate shipment. ZAPPY JR. is now in stock."
In November, ZAP unveiled a new toy electric scooter called ZAPPY JR. for 6 to 10 year olds, modeled after its famous scooter for adults. To kick off sales of ZAPPY JR., ZAP announced free shipping on all orders placed for the ZAPPY JR. through the Internet now through January 15. To order, go to http://www.zapworld.com.
