WHY: Southern California has long been a breeding ground for the
latest in fashion, music, entertainment and technology, and the
region's worldwide influence and impact on cutting-edge design
and lifestyle trends is well-known. One year ago, General
Motors, in recognition of the wealth of talent and vision that
drives this design influence, established a Design Studio in Los
Angeles' "NoHo" arts and media district. The Los Angeles Design
Studio, part of an international network of design resource
centers that includes Australia, Brazil, England, Japan, China,
Germany, Sweden, and Italy is now operating at full scale, and
already has created and developed innovations in vehicle design.
