REMINDER/Il Fornaio to Inaugurate Annual New Year's Day Sporting Car Show on Monday, January 1st, 2001
--WHAT: Il Fornaio Sporting Car Show. Formerly known as the "Anti-Football Tour on New Year's Day". Il Fornaio restaurant and bakery in Corte Madera, California to host 50+ vintage cars in the Northwest corner of the Corte Madera Town Center parking lot. No charge for viewing the automobiles. WHO: 50+ of northern California's finest vintage (at least 25 years old) touring automobiles to be on display for public viewing. Il Fornaio restaurant and bakery to be open throughout the day for interaction with the owners of the cars. WHEN: Monday, January 1st, 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Cars will begin to arrive at approximately 12:30 p.m. Restaurant and bakery open at 9 a.m. WHERE: Northwest section of the Corte Madera Town Center parking lot, located just off Highway 101 at the Tamalpais Drive exit in Corte Madera (Marin County), California. WHY: To provide an alternative to watching college football on TV. A precursor to the annual California Mille Miglia, an event sponsored by Il Fornaio for nine years that takes place each May. To view some of Northern California's finest vintage automobiles that are actually driven in rallies such as the Il Fornaio Sporting Car show.
