WIX Filters Continues Box Top Redemption Program with FFA
GASTONIA, N.C., Dec. 28 WIX Filters, a leading
manufacturer and distributor of filtration products, will once again conduct
its box-top redemption fund-raising program with the National FFA
Organization.
The 16-year-old program, which provides funding to local FFA chapters
across the country, requires student chapter members to collect box tops from
any WIX filters product box and redeem them for donations from WIX to fund
their chapters' operations and activities.
"Wix Filtration Products got its start as a manufacturer and marketer of
agricultural filters," said Bruce R. Johnston, brand manager for Wix
Filtration Products, a division of Dana Corp. . "Our long-standing
partnership with FFA not only allows us to remain in touch with our roots and
the attributes that built the WIX Filters brand, but it also allows us to
contribute to the education and training of the next generation of agriculture
industry leaders."
Wix Filtration Products, which will make available approximately $60,000
in donations to participating local FFA chapters this year, has donated more
than $475,000 to FFA to date through this program and related efforts.
"WIX has made a wonderful commitment to FFA and its chapters," said Jan
Ferris, regional director, southeast, for the National FFA Foundation. "Their
ongoing participation translates directly into more and better educational
experiences for our members. We're extremely pleased and very grateful."
FFA chapters collect box tops each year from January 1 through April 15. The
box tops are redeemed by WIX, which provides a donation relative to the total
number of box tops returned. WIX rewards five top-performing chapters with
additional $1,000 awards. Four receive the bonus for collecting the most box
tops per chapter member while one is rewarded for recording the highest
percentage increase in box tops redeemed over the previous year.
In addition to its box-top redemption program, WIX annually awards four
$1,000 scholarships to FFA-member students who pursue undergraduate degrees in
agricultural mechanics and agricultural engineering.
The National FFA Organization is the nation's leading agricultural youth
organization. With more than 450,000 members in 7,226 chapters throughout the
United States, in Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Guam and Rota, FFA makes a
positive difference in the lives of young people by developing their potential
for leadership, personal growth and career success.
