Metatec Now Offers its DataCard in Four Sizes
Discs can also be ordered online through Metatec E-store

DUBLIN, Ohio, Dec. 28 The shaped CD -- a relatively new
business card-sized CD-ROM popular with marketers, promoters and retailers --
is now available in larger data capacity sizes from Metatec International
, a leading worldwide information distribution company. Metatec
markets its shaped CD under the "DataCard" product name.

"Since introducing the DataCard earlier this year, demand has risen for
larger capacity discs as more taxing uses, such as big product catalogs, are
being developed by customers," said Timothy Dop, Metatec's business manager of
disc products. "In response, we now offer the Metatec DataCard in 60, 80 and
160 megabyte capacity, in addition to the original 40 megabyte size. The
larger sizes offer more capacity for video, links to the Internet or more
written content important to catalog publishers."
Because of their convenient size and unusual shape, marketers have
embraced the DataCard as an attention-getting way to market products and
services. The Metatec DataCard plays in any computer CD-ROM drive. Because of
the data capacity, products can be shown through compelling visual
presentations with motion and sound. Uses include special promotions,
entertainment events, for delivering multimedia presentations, annual reports,
product information, special offers, product catalogs and can be printed to
look like a business card. Vivid company and product information can be
continually renewed with links to the Internet.
The DataCard is cut from a regular-sized CD into any number of novel
shapes.
"The 60 and 80MB DataCards are slightly wider than the standard 40MB
version," said Dop. The largest size 160MB capacity DataCard is a round,
though still miniature version of its larger 650MB CD-ROM cousin.
Metatec also offers complete printing, packaging and supply chain services
for the DataCard and the entire family of Metatec optical media products.
Also, the Metatec DataCard can now be ordered online through Metatec E-
store. Metatec E-store is a convenient Internet-based ordering capability on
the company's Web site, http://www.metatec.com . Click the Metatec E-store icon on
the home page to order any number of Metatec products including DVD 5, 9 and
10, CD-R, standard CD-ROM and the DataCard. Also available are choices for
packaging, disc art and shipping.
