SIDERAX Inc. - Inventor struck by inspirationTRURO, NS, Dec. 27 /PRNewswire/ - Inventor struck by inspiration makes rack on the side. Device attaches to the vehicle to safely transport long items. Spencer Hibbs had an inspiration after his attempt to transport eavestroughing in his vehicle. The eavestroughing, one end on the back seat and the other sticking out the passenger window, lifted by the wind and whacked him in the head. It occurred to him that he had also seen drivers with one arm out the window holding on to long items. "I knew there had to be a better way of transporting long items." He said. "There just wasn't any need for drivers to be using one hand to drive and the other steadying items on their vehicle." His new creation, SIDERAX, can be attached to the side of the vehicle to safely transport those difficult to handle items. After five years of design and testing, the product is now available for most cars, pickups, SUVs and vans. Foam padding on the inside of the plastic racks prevents the vehicle's exterior from being damaged. The racks are attached through the window and secured to the bottom of the vehicle by bungee cords. "The side load is very visible to the driver through the side mirrors," Mr. Hibbs said. "It just made sense." Mr. Hibbs struck a deal with Barry Bartlett, owner of the Bartlett Plastic and Precision Machining in Truro Nova Scotia, to produce his invention. It's been in production for the past three months and is already selling well in many hardware chains, and makes an ideal gift. SIDERAX makes it easy to transport home renovation materials or other long items, and is a perfect fit for Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters and Do-it-yourselfers.
