CTS Corporation Debuts Industry's First Ball Grid Array, High Performance Low Voltage Differential -- LVD -- SCSI Termination Solution...for SPI-4 and Beyond

    Business Editors, High Tech Writers

ELKHART, Ind.--Dec. 27, 2000--CTS Corporation today debuted RT1300, the world's first high performance Low Voltage Differential (LVD) SCSI terminator for active termination, in a ball grid array (BGA) package.
Featuring a solid ceramic substrate and industry-preferred low profile, ball grid array interconnect, this device virtually eliminates channel capacitance and lead inductance, the primary causes of reduced system performance!
For high performance systems...The CTS RT1300 terminator provides precision termination performance for LVD SCSI Parallel Interface-4 (SP1-4), Ultra 4, and beyond applications. The CTS device is the first industry terminator with a bandwidth over one Gigahertz and channel capacitance less than 0.2pF -- creating an ideal termination solution for the most demanding computer storage system.
Designers no longer need to struggle with a printed circuit board layout. The terminator's ball grid array package provides an ideal route-through pin out for easy printed circuit board layout, minimizing design time and time to market. Easy to use, plug it in and forget it, the RT1300 is the ultimate termination solution for RAID, Server and Advance Workstation disk storage systems.
This new nine-line LVD SCSI terminator provides precision termination for Ultra3, Ultra4 performance and beyond. With a frequency response of greater than 1.2GHz, this device will effectively terminate LVD SCSI buses beyond Ultra4. Ultra4, SP1-4 is the latest in a long line of high performance SCSI compliant standards. Ultra4 systems provide data transfer of 320MB/s.
