Collins & Aikman's Holmesville Facility Receives ISO 14001 Certification

TROY, Mich.--Dec. 27, 2000--Collins & Aikman Corporation today announced that its Holmesville, Ohio, facility received its certification of registration for ISO 14001.
Holmesville is Collins & Aikman's first North American facility to receive such certification. Recognizing the certification, Plant Manager, Ken Brower noted, "As a leading automotive supplier, it's important that our processes and procedures are in line with our global customers' expectations. Being Collins & Aikman's first North American facility to receive this recognition is a great way to bring in the new year. The entire Holmesville team is extremely proud of itself." The Holmesville facility received its official ISO 14001 certification notification on Dec. 13, 2000.
In order for a facility to be eligible for certification, it must show compliance to the requirements set forth in the ISO 14001 standards established in 1996. A facility usually takes anywhere from 10-12 months to complete the certification process. Collins & Aikman's Holmesville facility implemented a team that aggressively accomplished the standards and requirements in only four months. Most major OEMs require their suppliers to complete compliance for ISO 14001 by the end of 2002.
