ArvinMeritor's Purolator Filtration Systems Group Recognized for Excellence

    TROY, Mich., Dec. 22 ArvinMeritor, Inc.
announced that its Purolator Filtration Systems group has been recognized by
Toyota Motor Sales with their 2000 Toyota Quality Alliance Award (TQA).  The
annual Quality Alliance Awards reaffirms Toyota's emphasis on choosing the
right partners -- those with an unwavering commitment to excellence in
products, service and support.
    Toyota Motor Sales chooses award winners based upon balanced scorecard,
which includes various criteria, such as world-class quality, delivery,
warranty, purchasing, marketing, program management and technical development
requirements.  ArvinMeritor's original equipment Purolator product line has
received this award for the second consecutive year.
