Proxicom Delivers Relaunch of Toyota.com and Lexus.com
RESTON, Va., Dec. 21 Proxicom, Inc. , a
leading e-business consulting and development company delivering multi-channel
solutions to Fortune 500 companies, today announced it has delivered the
relaunch of Toyota Motor Sales, USA's Toyota.com and Lexus.com websites.
Toyota is America's fourth largest automaker and manufactures more than one
million cars per year in North America. Toyota Motor Sales, USA is the
company's marketing, sales, distribution and customer service division.
The newly launched sites use the Internet to leverage the Toyota and Lexus
brands to inspire strong brand loyalty, provide increased dealer network
support and further expand consumer relationships. As Toyota's e-business
partner, Proxicom served as integrator working with Toyota's other service
providers including The Cobalt Group and Saatchi & Saatchi and Team One
Advertising, Toyota and Lexus brands' advertising agencies respectively, to
deliver the sites. Proxicom's primary focus was to create a flexible and
scalable architecture to support future site expansion and Toyota's
enterprise-wide IT standards. The new sites feature simple navigation and
easy access to well-structured product, dealer, financing and company
information.
"Proxicom's e-business and automotive industry expertise along with its
strength and experience as a third-party integrator, allows Toyota Motor
Sales, USA to leverage Internet technologies that will help us achieve our
business goals," said Irv Miller, vice president, Office of the Web, at Toyota
Motor Sales, USA. "In its role as primary developer, we are confident that
Proxicom will be with us to facilitate our e-business requirements into the
future."
Cobalt, a leading provider of e-business products and services to the
automotive industry, built the dealer locator that allows users to enter their
zip code to find the nearest dealer. And Saatchi & Saatchi and Team One
Advertising, created the front-end look and feel to enhance brand equity.
"Expanding consumer relationships beyond the vehicle to include financing,
insurance, auto repair and service as well as many others is a priority for
Toyota," said Steve Sturm, vice president, marketing at Toyota. "Proxicom,
along with the team of leading service providers, have delivered two well-
structured, easy-to-navigate sites that support these goals and lay the
foundation for future Toyota endeavors."
"Toyota is an innovative industry leader that understands leveraging the
Internet is integral to expanding its business operations and maximizing
involvement with its customers," said Michael Beck, senior vice president for
Proxicom's Automotive and Manufacturing practice. "Toyota's decision to work
with Proxicom further solidifies our position as a leader in the automotive e-
business services category."
Toyota is a member of an elite roster of clients that are serviced through
Proxicom's Automotive and Manufacturing practice. The Automotive and
