    LONDON, Dec. 21 http://www.just-auto.com -- Despite the
ongoing, negative and regular publicity as a result of the Firestone tire
recall earlier in the year, Ford Motor Co. is expecting record sales for 2000.
    Last year sales reached record levels of $163 billion but this year
figures are expected to be even better.

President and Chief Executive Jacques Nasser said in a statement.  "We've got
the best brands we've ever had and a great product line-up, which we expect to
lead to record sales."
