VideoMirror Technology At CES

21 December 2000

Donnelly Brings Driving Safety to the Consumer Market
HOLLAND, Mich., Dec. 20 For the first time, the Donnelly
Corporation will be displaying their mobile electronics systems at the annual
Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, January 2001. Their participation in
CES will provide the opportunity to showcase the VideoMirror(TM) products that
were recently made available on the Internet at http://www.donnelly.com .

"CES is an excellent opportunity for Donnelly to highlight the innovative
technologies that are behind the in-vehicle electronics that we have designed
this year," explains Frank O'Brien, Vice President, Corporate Marketing and
Consumer Products. "By exhibiting at the show, consumers will know that we
are using our knowledge of automobiles, technology and design to make driving
safer and easier for everyone on the road."

This is the second time that Donnelly will be exhibiting the line of
VideoMirror(TM) products. The in-vehicle child safety tools made their debut
at the SEMA show in October 2000.

The Consumer Electronics Show will give Donnelly the opportunity to
display their PanoramicVision(TM) system, which completely eliminates interior
and exterior mirrors. They will also be displaying their innovative
SmartRelease(TM) system, which uses intelligent technology to detect heat and
motion, and automatically open a car's trunk when it senses a person is
trapped inside.

The PanoramicVision(TM) and the VideoMirror(TM) concepts utilize mini-
cameras mounted either on the exterior of the vehicle or in the vehicle's
headliner. The camera reflects the image to the flip-down video screen that
is attached to the rear view mirror, allowing optimum heads up display. The
small size and the location of the video screen prevents drivers from having
to look away from the road for extended lengths of time in order to monitor
activity either within or outside of the vehicle.

"We have developed the world's first complete in-vehicle monitoring
system, and there is no better place to demonstrate that technology than at
CES in January," continues O'Brien. "These systems really demonstrate our
commitment to advanced thinking with a human touch."

Donnelly is a technology and customer-driven, growth oriented global
supplier of electronic systems for the automotive and information display
industries. Donnelly is the world's leader in developing a wide range of
camera vision systems that are suitable for automobiles, and have been
actively developing these systems for nearly ten years.

The PanoramicVision(TM) system, which replaces rear view mirrors, was displayed on
the GM Precept at the 2000 North American International Show. Donnelly is the
creator of the SmartRelease(TM), the only trunk release system that uses
intelligent technology to automatically free even the smallest children.

Donnelly Corporation has subsidiaries located in Mexico,
Ireland, France, Tokyo, Germany, Spain, Sweden and Shanghai. They operate
joint ventures throughout the U.S. and Brazil, China and Malaysia.
