CTS Corporation Board of Directors Elects Donald R. Schroeder Executive Vice President

    ELKHART, Ind.--Dec. 20, 2000--The Board of Directors of CTS Corporation has elected Donald R. Schroeder executive vice president, according to an announcement today by Joseph P. Walker, CTS chairman, president and chief executive officer. He will additionally retain the current position of chief technology officer. Schroeder's responsibilities include managing and directing CTS Corporation in implementing and achieving its technology objectives; developing Company-wide strategic business plans to achieve Corporate objectives for products and services; and working with CTS sales, marketing and product development to discern the competitiveness of new technologies. Schroeder will continue managing CTS Corporate Research, Development and Engineering with respect to the department's overall direction; and will maintain a key role in the planning and negotiation of alliances, mergers, joint ventures and acquisitions for the Corporation.

    Schroeder is a 1971 graduate of the University of Wisconsin where he received his B.S. degree in chemistry. He earned an M.S. in chemistry and physics from Iowa State University and an M.B.A. from Aurora College.
    In 1973 he joined the CTS Frequency Controls business, Sandwich, IL, as a process engineer. He later served as assistant general manager of the Frequency Controls facility. In 1977, Schroeder transferred to CTS Microelectronics in West Lafayette, Indiana. While there, he held positions as business development manager, assistant general manager and general manager. He was named vice president sales and marketing of CTS Corporation in 1995, a position he held until January 2000, when he was promoted to the position of vice president business development and chief technology officer.
    During his career, he has chaired numerous advanced electronics packaging conferences, including Electro, ISHM (now IMAPS) and NEPCON. He has presented a number of technical papers at electronics symposiums, including Electro, IEPS (International Electronics Packaging Society), ISHM, NEPCON and SMTA (Surface Mount Technology Association). Schroeder holds two U.S. patents in the area of electronics packaging technology.
    Schroeder and his wife, Sue, reside in the Granger area.
