DaimlerChrysler Corporation Appoints Timothy J. McBride, Vice President - Washington AffairsAUBURN HILLS, Mich., Dec. 20 DaimlerChrysler Corporation has announced the appointment of Timothy J. McBride as Vice President - Washington Affairs, effective immediately. McBride reports to Robert G. Liberatore, Senior Vice President - External Affairs & Public Policy - NAFTA. In this position, McBride, 42, is responsible for North America Government Relations, U.S. Congressional, Legislative and Washington-based Regulatory Affairs, and the administration of the Washington Office. Most recently, he was Director - Government Relations, Auto Issues. "Tim's extensive experience in public policy will help us maximize the impact of Washington Affairs on the fortunes of the company, provide leadership and strategic direction in a key government relations role and help us to address more effectively the changes in the political environment in North America," said Liberatore. McBride joined DaimlerChrysler in 1996 as Congressional Affairs Director. Since that time, he has held increasingly responsible positions in External Affairs and Public Policy. Previously, he was a member of the Bush and Reagan Administrations, last serving as Assistant to the President and Director - White House Management and Administration. Prior to that, he was Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Trade Development with the United States Department of Commerce. McBride holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University.
