Sprint to Offer Advanced In-Vehicle, Integrated Wireless Communications Solutions to Jaguar
Sprint PCS' All-digital Telematics Solutions Provide Safety and Convenience To
       In-Vehicle Wireless Phone Users Available on 2001 Model Jaguars

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Dec. 20 Sprint PCS today
announced a strategic alliance with Jaguar Cars North America to deliver clear
all-digital, all-PCS wireless voice and data solutions to all 2001 model year
Jaguar vehicles.
    Sprint PCS becomes the sole wireless network provider to support
telematics solutions for the Deluxe Communications Package available on all
Jaguar S-TYPE vehicles and one of three providers available with optional
communications packages available to all other Jaguar automobiles.
    "This strategic agreement with Jaguar further strengthens Sprint PCS'
leadership position in providing customers wireless voice and data
communications wherever they are," said Joe Averkamp, senior director
telematics, Sprint PCS.  "Sprint PCS' goal is to increase driver safety and
enhance the driving experience," Averkamp said.  "Sprint PCS is committed to
developing wireless solutions designed to facilitate safe, convenient use of
wireless communications at all times."
    The Jaguar Deluxe Communications Package includes console mounted portable
cellular phone, voice-activated controls, navigation system and four-year
subscription to Jaguar Assist -- an emergency messaging system.
    Jaguar's fully integrated in-dash navigation system, which uses Global
Positioning Satellites (GPS), calculates the vehicles position and provides
both voice and visual guidance to the drivers final destination.
    The navigation capability can also be combined with Jaguar Assist which
provides drivers with direct access to roadside assistance and emergency
messaging.  The system provides an automated response in the event of airbag
deployment or assistance at the push of a button.
    The S-TYPE's voice-activated control system was the first of its kind in
the automotive industry when it was introduced in the 2000 S-TYPE.  The system
enables voice commands to operate the primary climate control functions, the
audio system and the cellular telephone using continuous speech instructions,
independent of the speaker, the driver can select interior temperature, tune a
radio station or dial a telephone number.
    Now Jaguar customers also will have access to Sprint PCS Voice Command,
the first nationwide network-based, voice-activated dialing and information
service.  Voice Command is an additional program feature that is available
through http://www.sprintPCS.com .  Once registered, the user simply dials # TALK.
Voice Command allows users to safely and quickly access people and information
using various speech-enabled, voice-independent function while using any
Sprint PCS handset.
    Jaguar drivers also can purchase an optional communications package that
includes an Internet-ready Sprint PCS wireless handset.  This communications
package allows subscribers use of the advanced communications features offered
on Sprint PCS' all-digital, all-PCS nationwide wireless network.  Customers
have complete access to all the voice call services and can access the
Internet through the Sprint PCS Wireless Web.
    Jaguar's Deluxe and optional communications packages include a Motorola
Timeport P8167 dual-band wireless handset.  Utilizing the Sprint PCS Motorola
Timeport wireless handset, drivers also can access the Sprint PCS Wireless
Web. The Timeport wireless handset also offers users access to voice calling,
caller ID and voicemail options.
