Demmer Automotive Group to Carry on Krug Legacy of Service
WAYNE, Mich., Dec. 20 Respected Ford and Lincoln-Mercury
dealership, Jack Demmer Automotive Group, today began operation of longtime
Dearborn auto dealership Krug Lincoln-Mercury, the fourth largest Lincoln-
Mercury dealership in unit sales in the United States. The sale was completed
today, according to Bill Demmer, president of Demmer Automotive Group, which
is headquartered in Wayne, Mich.
"It is an honor to continue the tradition of consumer satisfaction," said
Demmer. "His commitment to customer service and product selection set a
benchmark over the years for the rest of us to follow. We at the Demmer
Automotive Group will work hard to continue that legacy."
Demmer will continue to operate the dealership from its existing location
at 21531 Michigan Ave., between Outer Drive and the Southfield freeway. The
main dealership is on 6.1 acres with 268,456 square feet of building space,
including a 7,400 square foot showroom; an area for used vehicles, and a
48,000 square foot parts and service facility. It will be named Jack Demmer
Lincoln-Mercury.
The Demmer group will also operate the 52,000 square foot collision
center, located at 14641 Prospect in Dearborn under the name of Jack Demmer
Collision Center.
In addition to the extensive new vehicle inventory and traditional quality
service offered in the past, the Demmer Group will add several new features to
enhance the vehicle purchase and service experience, such as spot delivery of
vehicles, and a new valet service. The company also offers two customer
websites -- http://www.demmer.com and http://www.aplanheadquarters.com .
The Demmer Automotive Group currently owns and operates two dealerships,
Jack Demmer Ford, Inc. in Wayne, and Jack Demmer Lincoln-Mercury in
Farmington, Mich. According to Bill Demmer, the group will divest itself of
the Farmington dealership by January, 2001.
"We have enjoyed the customer relationships we've developed in Farmington
over the last two years, and will continue them by providing uninterrupted
service, including free pick-up and delivery, and complimentary home and
office customer shuttle service," added Demmer, who is also president of the
Detroit Auto Dealers Association, and a member of the North American
International Auto Show organizing committee.
