American Axle & Manufacturing Announces Executive AppointmentsDETROIT, Dec. 19 American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings, Inc. (AAM), which is traded as AXL on the NYSE, today announced the following executive appointments: Robert F. Fair has been appointed director, Labor Relations. Fair joined AAM in September 1997 and most recently served as president & COO of MSP Industries, a subsidiary of AAM. Inacio N. Moriguchi has been appointed director, Manufacturing Engineering - Forging. Before joining AAM in October 2000, Moriguchi was general manager of Kaiser Aluminum Forge Operations. Patrick J. Paige has been appointed president & CEO of AAM's UK-based subsidiary, Albion Automotive, and managing director, AAM Europe. Paige joined AAM in August 1994 as corporate counsel, and most recently was director, Labor Relations for AAM. Brian P. Prucher has been appointed director, Manufacturing Engineering & Forging. Most recently Prucher was director, Engineering, Forge Division. Alan L. Shaffer has been appointed vice president, Manufacturing Services. Shaffer joined AAM in October 2000 from Eventory, Inc., where he served as executive vice president. David Sibley has been appointed director, Corporate Facilities Engineering. Sibley joined AAM in March 1994, and most recently was manager, Product Program Facilities. Dr. Glen C. Steyer has been appointed director, NVH & Product Development. Dr. Steyer joined AAM in September 2000. Steyer was manager of the Computer Aided Test program for General Motors. As a consultant to the automotive industry for over 20 years, he developed advanced methods for simulation and correlation of driveline noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) issues, and applied these methods to vehicle and driveline NVH development. Michael D. Straney has been appointed president & COO of MSP Industries. Straney joined AAM in March 1994 as director, Capacity Planning, Modernization & Investment. His most recent assignment was president & CEO, Albion Automotive.
