Federal-Mogul Honored as Vendor of the Year by Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Dec. 19 Federal-Mogul Corporation has been honored as Vendor of the Year
by its largest North American aftermarket customer, Aftermarket Auto Parts
Alliance, Inc.  Federal-Mogul was awarded Vendor of the Year in
three categories:  Outstanding Marketing Support, Outstanding Training Support
and Outstanding Installer Promotion.
    "We are extremely proud of our vendors and take pride in being associated
with the cream of the crop.  Federal-Mogul is our largest vendor; we buy all
their major product lines because they earn the business line-by-line," said
Richard H. Morgan, president, Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance.  Presenting the
awards were Alliance's co-chairmen, Rollie Olson, president of Parts Depot,
Inc., and Fred Bunting, president of Auto-Wares, Inc.  Accepting the awards
was Alan Johnson, executive vice president, The Americas and Asia,
Federal-Mogul.
    Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance was incorporated in January 2000 as a
result of Auto Value Associates, Inc. and All Pro/Bumper to Bumper, Inc.
joining two already successful program distribution groups.  The 64 warehouse
distributors who are Alliance shareholders comprise more than 120 warehouse
distribution centers, 3,100 auto parts stores and 2,000 service centers.
    "We are extremely pleased to be honored by the Alliance shareholders,"
Johnson said.  "We strive to attain these awards because it is a true
indication of the value we bring to our customer."

Americas, Federal-Mogul.  "Given the Alliance's global direction, we are also
very excited about the many prospects and new opportunities that exist for

    Federal-Mogul product lines sold by Alliance include:  Anco(R) wipers, BCA
bearings, Carter(R) fuel, Champion(R) spark plugs, Fel-Pro(R) gaskets, Moog(R)
chassis, Precision(R) universal joints, PowerPath(R) wire and cable,
Signal-Stat(R) lighting, Sealed Power(R) engine products, and Wagner(R) brake
and Wagner(R) lighting products.
    The Vendor of the Year award for Outstanding Installer Promotion award
went to Federal-Mogul for its Wagner Brake installer marketing program.
    "We are very proud to have our installer program voted the best marketing
program of a branded category," said Egan.  "We're also delighted to be
recognized for the exceptional training of installers because, in reality,
they are the final customer."
