Scientific Measurements Systems, Inc. Files Bankruptcy

    AUSTIN, Texas, Dec. 18 The Board of Directors of
Scientific Measurements Systems, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: SCMS) announced
that the company has filed for protection from its creditors under provisions
of the Federal Bankruptcy Code.  The company has as well effectively ceased
operations.
